Seeking UI/UX Help for Fungi and Myxomycetes Identification Microsite
November 14, 2024Thank you all for volunteered for the previous opportunities!!!
The club regularly gets approached by outside organizations about spreading our love for fungi far and wide. We’re looking for volunteers to help us help those people out!
NYMS Halloween event
The first opportunity is a fun one – we need more volunteers for our Halloween event this Sunday (see above). Please email Journei Bimwala at eachonecarryone@gmail.com if you are able to help with this event!
NYMS table at the Bronx River Foodway Community Banquet
We also still need a second volunteer for our table at the Bronx River Foodway Community Banquet (see below). Please email president@newyorkmyc.org if you are able to help out.
Staten Island Technical High School mentorship
We got the following message:
“Hello, our names are Sicheng Wu and Danielle Dubov. We are sophomores at Staten Island Technical High School in the SERP (Science Engineering Research program) class and are responsible for carrying out an original research project over the course of this year. We would like to investigate regional fungi and their effects on the environment and vice versa. Since you have written articles in the past about mycology and fungi traits specifically in New York, we are wondering if you might be able to offer some advice.
We have begun doing background research at this point. Are there any specific resources that you think we should consult? Also, would you be willing to offer advice on our study design? Our timeline is as follows: We will need to complete a literature review by mid-late November, and we have to submit a formal research plan to our Scientific Review Committee by January.
If you are willing to offer any advice, or if you know anyone else who could do so, we would greatly appreciate it. We can correspond via email or have a zoom meeting, whichever is more convenient for you. ”
Please email president@newyorkmyc.org if you can help these enthusiastic students out.
