New Leadership for NYMS in 2025
March 5, 2025We are excited to announce a new exhibition on the pioneering 19th century female mycologist Mary Banning at the New York State Museum in Albany. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to view Banning’s, Fungi of Maryland — an unpublished manuscript of scientific descriptions, mycological anecdotes, and 175 watercolor paintings of fungal species. These beautiful, 13″ x 15″ watercolor paintings are “extraordinary… a blend of science and folk art, scientifically accurate and lovely to look at.” (The New York State Museum)
