Join NYMS members for a collaborative walk with The Riverside Park Conservancy in Riverside Park, Manhattan Saturday, July 11th.
Our collaborators, the Riverside Park Conservancy, are an organization which cares for the six miles of parkland on the West Side of Manhattan from 59th to 181st Street. Working alongside the New York City Parks Department, the RPC makes improvements as diverse as the park itself and the city it serves.
Bring paper bags for collecting specimens, a hand lens, a knife, a tackle box (optional), water and a lunch. The club is fairly all-weather, but if the forecast takes a particularly nasty turn, we will cancel this walk. Please monitor your email in case we do.
We highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS, Android) to document the fungi you find. Find out how to use it here.
If you’ve never been on a mushroom walk with us before, here is what to expect.
The event details are only viewable to active members who are logged into the website. To view details of the event, please use the login form in the left sidebar.
We look forward to seeing you at the walk!
