
The Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) in Astoria, Queens opens its doors for a series of free summer events that bring into conversation mycologists, biologists, and ecologists alongside artists and filmmakers, exploring how the tools of science and cinema can reveal more of our urban landscape than is visible to the naked eye. Don’t miss MoMI’s special event, “More than Meets the Eye” on Saturday June 29, in partnership with NYMS:
Schedule for 6.29:
12:30 p.m.: Meet for the mushroom walk in the MoMI Lobby
1:00–2:00 p.m.: NYMS walk around Astoria (RSVP for the walk)
2:00–4:00 p.m.: BioBus at MoMI
2:30 p.m.: NYMS ID session
4:30–6:00 p.m.: Screening and Q&A (RSVP for the screening)
Please note: The 6/29, 4:30pm film screening is currently sold out. MoMI is working on moving the event to their larger theatre to accommodate demand. If you have tried to RSVP to the film screening and the list was closed, we recommend checking back again to see if the list has reopened or just arriving on Saturday around 4pm to get a standby seat.
