BREAKING NEWS! Scientists finally figure out how to pronounce the word “fungi”
April 1, 2026Introducing the NYMS Lecture Library
For years, the New York Mycological Society has brought together a vibrant community of fungi enthusiasts—hosting lectures, workshops, and field-based learning experiences that explore everything from mushroom identification to the hidden world of slime molds. Along the way, one question kept coming up:
“Where can I find the recordings?”
Now, you can—and while they’re centralized here, they’ll still live on the past events pages as well.
The NYMS Lecture Library is a new, centralized hub where you can browse and watch our growing archive of mycology content—capturing the knowledge, curiosity, and expertise shared across our community.
Explore lectures on:
• Fungi identification and taxonomy
• Microscopy techniques and spore analysis
• Slime molds and urban biodiversity
• Guest expert presentations from leading mycologists
You can search by topic, browse by speaker, and quickly find the content that interests you—whether you’re just getting started or looking to deepen your expertise!
Some lectures are available to the public, while the full collection is reserved for NYMS members, supporting our mission to promote the study and appreciation of fungi in the New York region.
If you’ve ever wanted to revisit a favorite talk—or dive deeper into something new—this is your starting point.
