
Staten Island has not benefited as much from the recent rains, getting a mere 0.6 inches. We nonetheless hope to find at least a few summer mycorrhizals, including Russulas, Amanita and perhaps a few Boletes.
Bring water and lunch. There will be mosquitoes and possibly ticks, so make sure to protect yourself.
Our lunch spot is next to a beach and members have been known to bring their swimsuits for a quick dip.
