Join us for a walk in Tallman State Park in Rockland County this Saturday, October 3rd.
We have not visited Tallman as a club since 2019. Pluteus aurantiorugosus, a beautiful and stunning and somewhat rare orange mushroom was last seen there by the club in October 2019.
Bring paper bags for collecting specimens, a hand lens, a knife, a tackle box (optional), water and a lunch. The club is fairly all-weather, but if the forecast takes a particularly nasty turn, we will cancel this walk or shift it to another day. Please monitor your email in case we do.
We highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS, Android) to document the fungi you find. Find out how to use it here.
If you’ve never been on a mushroom walk with us before, here is what to expect.
