We’ll provide all art materials, and an assortment of fungi specimens foraged around NYC for direct observational drawing and scientific study.
We will focus on The American Eastern Jack-o’-Lantern mushroom, a bright orange, poisonous species that closely resembles the edible chanterelle, which smells like apricots. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to distinguish the two, create art from direct observation, and walk away with new knowledge, artwork, and connections. Bonus: this mushroom is bioluminescent, meaning it glows in the dark! And did we mention? It’s a full moon!
