Join us for a walk in Alley Pond Park, Queens this Sunday, June 15th. Note that this walk will start at a different location than usual.
Our walk is in collaboration with the Alley Pond Environmental Center, an organization dedicated to educating children and adults in the New York metropolitan area, protecting and preserving Alley Pond Park, open spaces and waterbodies, and advocating for sustainable environmental policies and practices.
Bring paper bags for collecting specimens, a hand lens, a knife, a tackle box (optional), water and a lunch. The club is fairly all-weather, but if the forecast takes a particularly nasty turn, we will cancel this walk. Please monitor your email in case we do.
We highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS, Android) to document the fungi you find. Find out how to use it here.
If you’ve never been on a mushroom walk with us before, here is what to expect.
The event details are only viewable to active members who are logged into the website. To view details of the event, please use the login form in the left sidebar.
We look forward to seeing you at the walk!
