The mushroom season is done, and holidays are here, so now would be a good time to revisit the old time favorites to get our mushroom fix. That is, it is time to visit the trusty kosher Chinese vegetarian restaurant
Buddha Bodai, 5 Mott Street, Chinatown, Manhattan.
Currently we have two dinners planned there: next Thursday, December 14th, and Wednesday January 10th, at 6:30pm on both days.
This place has been an long-time favorite for many members of our club. For those who have not tried it yet – welcome to the local mushroom eatery. Everything is vegetarian there, most dishes are vegan, but you will not be missing meat products while there at all.
Based on the previous events there, the costs per person should be somewhere around $30-33 (inflation!) including tips. The place does not serve alcohol, but feel free to bring wine or beer if you want: since the place is certified kashrut, they ask for the outside drinks to be kosher too. I will try to order a variety of dishes similar to the selections we tried in the past, supply chain issues allowing, of course, and try a new dish or two. And please bring CASH as it is by far the easiest way to pay in the end.
