Join us for a walk in Beech Brook, Passaic County, NJ, Saturday, August 29th. On a 2019 Beech Brook walk, NYMS members observed over 200 species of fungi. Let’s see if we can get anywhere close to that number on this walk.
Bring paper bags for collecting specimens, a hand lens, a knife, a tackle box (optional), water and a lunch. As always, if the forecast changes for the very bad, we might shift the walk to a different day or cancel it. So please monitor your email. We highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS, Android) to document the fungi you find. Find out how to use it here.
If you’ve never been on a mushroom walk with us before, here is what to expect.
Ticks and mosquitos are common in this park so you will want to be prepared for those as well.
