Walk dates might change at short notice based on the weather situation and other unforeseen events.
Walks typically last four to five hours and cover often uneven terrain. Please be on time! Walk leaders might be busy and unable to respond to calls or texts.
We have pop up walks on many weekends outside this schedule. As a NYMS member you will receive information on those walks via email.
Protect yourself against ticks and mosquitoes. Use sunscreen and bring plenty of water.
The focus of our walks is the documentation and identification of our local fungal diversity so make sure you’re signed up for iNaturalist, a great app for with which to document and identify your finds.
We need assistant walk leaders for our summer and fall walks! Please email president@newyorkmyc.org if you are interested.
