In 2023, NAMA partnered with The Fungivore Mexico Mushroom Adventures for a first-of-its-kind curated deep dive into the parallel world of Mycology in Mexico. Indigenous community members, mycologists, chefs, and professors all convened with the thirty US-based mushroom enthusiasts that attended to bring us up to speed on Mexico, Community and the Future of Mycology. The resounding response from attendees was a mix of delight, wonder, mind-blown awe, as well as an unshakable new view and understanding of Mexico, and its important role as we move into an ecologically sound future of Flora Fauna & Funga for North America. This presentation aims to introduce a glimpse into Mexico’s vast store of ecological wisdom and mycological aspirations, and invite you to join us in August at NAMA_MX24.”
