DESCRIPTION:Our next ID meeting will take place on Monday\, October 5th\, from 6:30 to 8:30 at Ethan Crenson’s house. Attendees can of course arrive later and leave earlier. \nPlease bring any interesting specimens regardless of whether you have identified them or not\, and check out what others have found. \nIn person ID meetings are a great way of developing your hands-on identification skills and dipping your toes into microscopy.\nThe event details are only viewable to active members who are logged into the website. To view details of the event\, please use the login form in the left sidebar. \n \nThere will be microscopes and lots of mushroom books. SUMMARY:High Rock Park\, Staten Island\, NY - Saturday\, October 10th
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a walk in High Rock Park\, Staten Island on Saturday\, October 10th.  \nThis walk takes place on the day before Fungus Festival\, so in addition surveying the park in our usual way\, we will also be collecting specimens to show off at the Battery on Sunday the 11th. \nBring paper bags for collecting specimens\, a hand lens\, a knife\, a tackle box (optional)\, water and a lunch. The NYMS is fairly all-weather\, but if the forecast takes a particularly nasty turn\, we will postpone or cancel this walk. Please monitor your email in case we do. \nWe highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS\, Android) to document the fungi you find.
