SUMMARY:Stony Brook\, Rockland County\, Saturday\, July 25th
DESCRIPTION:Join us in Stony Brook in Harriman Park for a walk on Saturday\, July 25th. On our walk at Stony Brook last July we observed over 100 species of fungi\, including 18 boletes. There were also two species of Thelephora—the fiber fans.  \nIn the case of a forecast of severe weather\, we may shift the walk to a different day or cancel it. Please monitor your email in case we do. \nBring paper bags for collecting specimens\, a hand lens\, a knife\, a tackle box (optional)\, water and a lunch. \nWe highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS\, Android) to document the fungi you find. Find out how to use it here. \nIf you’ve never been on a mushroom walk with us before\, here is what to expect. \nTicks and mosquitos are common in this park so you will want to be prepared for those as well. \nThe event details are only viewable to active members who are logged into the website.
