DESCRIPTION:Join us in Stony Brook in Harriman Park for a walk on Saturday\, July 26th. On our walk at Stony Brook last July we observed over 180 species of fungi\, including 29 boletes. In the case of a forecast of severe weather\, we may shift the walk to a different day or cancel it. Please monitor your email in case we do.  \nBring paper bags for collecting specimens\, a hand lens\, a knife\, a tackle box (optional)\, water and a lunch. \nWe highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS\, Android) to document the fungi you find. Find out how to use it here. \nIf you’ve never been on a mushroom walk with us before\, here is what to expect. \nTicks and mosquitos are common in this park so you will want to be prepared for those as well. \nThe event details are only viewable to active members who are logged into the website. SUMMARY:Celebrate (Myco)Pride on Sat. 7/26 at Historic Home of LGBTQ+ Pioneer
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Myco-Pride with NYMS on Saturday 7/26 for our inaugural collaboration with the Alice Austen House in Staten Island\, the home of pioneering 19th century female photographer Alice Austen. The AAH is an LGBTQ+ landmark\, the only museum devoted to a woman photographer in the United States\, and one of very few preserved artist’s homes and studios in NYC.
