DESCRIPTION:Join us for a walk in Pelham Bay Park\, Bronx this Saturday\, March 8th. \nAccording to our recent 2025 NYC Diversity Report\, the club has visited Pelham Bay Park 47 times since 2009 and we have identified 386 fungi (and other fungi-like taxa). In the cold weather months\, there are some interesting species to keep an eye out for\, like Hohenbuehelia grisea and Arachnopeziza trabinelloides.  \nBring paper bags for collecting specimens\, a hand lens\, a knife\, a tackle box (optional)\, water and a lunch. Dress for the weather. The NYMS is fairly all-weather\, but if the forecast takes a particularly nasty turn\, we will cancel this walk. Please monitor your email in case we do.  \nWe highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS\, Android) to document the fungi you find. SUMMARY:Don't Miss NYMS at Pioneer Works for Second Sunday on March 9th!
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand – NYMS is collaborating with the fabulous Red Hook Brooklyn arts\, science\, and performance space Pioneer Works for the March 2025 relaunch of their Second Sundays series. Join us 12-4pm for this FREE afternoon extravaganza featuring a mini-foray in the Pioneerworks garden and neighborhood led by NYMS member Wilton Rao with co-leaders Misha Zitser and Maren Fossi\,  fungal microscopy with Sally Kong\, and fungal ID room led by the NYMS team.
