DESCRIPTION:Join us for a walk in Cunningham Park\, Queens this Saturday\, March 1. \nAs you might have seen in our 2025 NYC Diversity Report\, Inwood Hill Park is one of our better surveyed parks where we have identified 385 taxa. Unfortunately we will not be seeing most of them. March and April are generally the months in which we find the fewest fungi. We’re most likely to find some crusts\, tiny ascomycetes\, jellies\, polypores and lichens. Cunningham is one of the parks in which we consistently find Angelina rufescens\, a handsome ascomycete. \nBring water and a lunch and a hand lens and tackle box if you have them. Dress for the weather – it should be quite warm. \nWe highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS\, Android) to document the fungi you find.
