SUMMARY:Come join us for an online ID meeting this Monday March 25 - featuring waxy caps
DESCRIPTION:Next Monday’s week’s ID meeting will be happening online. \nTom Bigelow will host a waxy cap themed ID meeting\, we’re encouraging people to bring their waxy caps and their … \nCuphophyllus \nGliophorus \nGloioxanthomyces \nHygrocybe \nHygrophorus \nHumidicutis \nNeohygrocybe \nPorpolomopsis \nCome share what you’ve found\, see what others have found or to ask more general questions about anything fungi-related. \nWe encourage you to use iNaturalist – it’s a great way to keep track of your finds\, and you will be able to participate in these two NYMS projects: \n\nFungi of New York City\nFungi Beyond New York City\nSlime Molds of New York City\n\nIf you’re not using iNaturalist\, try to have images on your computer that you can share. \nEither way\, it’s important to document your finds with clear pictures\, showing details of cap\, underside and stem\, and to note the habitat. When possible\, make a spore print. \nAll members are welcome to join – especially new members! We will try to make it as easy as possible for everyone and are eager to assist\, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. \n-Sigrid Jakob\, NYMS \n  \nMonday March 25\, 6:30 PM \n

SUMMARY:Foragers Gathering hosted by the Bronx River Foodway Team
DESCRIPTION:This is an event by Bronx River Foodway\, New York City’s forageable park and a NYMS partner. They are inviting the community to join them for a special gathering of foragers aimed at building community and exploring how they can collaborate to serve the land and our communities together. As foragers\, they understand the importance of coming together to connect\, share ideas\, and work towards common goals that benefit both the environment and our local communities. This gathering will provide an opportunity for the community to unite\, discuss\, and explore ways to enhance their collective impact as foragers. \nWhether you’re a seasoned forager or just beginning to explore the wonders of wild edibles\, they welcome you to join them. Together\, they want to: \n– Build a supportive and inclusive community of foragers\n– Explore ways to responsibly steward the land and its resources\n– Identify opportunities for collaborative projects that benefit both nature and society\n– Share knowledge\, skills\, and resources to empower each other in our foraging journeys\n– Cultivate a deeper connection with the natural world and our local ecosystems \nPlease RSVP here to confirm your attendance\, and feel free to bring any foraging-related items or resources you’d like to share with the group. \n*Note this event is a part of their March 30th Spring Equinox event hosted by Concrete Friends and Bronx River Foodway Team.
