DESCRIPTION:Join us for an in-person ID meeting on Monday\, October 23. \nThis meeting will take place from 6.30 to 8.30 at Paul Sadowski’s apartment. \nAttendees can of course arrive later and leave earlier. \nPlease bring any interesting specimens regardless of whether you have identified them or not\, and check out what others have found. \nIn person ID meetings are a great way of developing your hands-on identification skills and dipping your toes into microscopy! \nThe event details are only viewable to active members who are logged into the website. To view details of the event\, please use the login form in the left sidebar. \n\nThe following ID meeting on October 30 will take place online. \nWe encourage you to use iNaturalist – it’s a great way to keep track of your finds\, and you will be able to participate in these two NYMS projects: \n\nFungi of New York City.\nFungi Beyond New York City.\nSlime Molds of New York City.\n\nIf you’re not using iNaturalist\, try to have images on your computer that you can share. \nEither way\, it’s important to document your finds with clear pictures\, showing details of cap\, underside and stem\, and to note the habitat. When possible\, make a spore print. \nAll members are welcome to join – especially new members! We will try to make it as easy as possible for everyone and are eager to assist\, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

SUMMARY:Annual picnic walk with COMA
DESCRIPTION:We are having our annual picnic and mushroom walk with the COMA (Connecticut/Westchester) club next Saturday\, October 28.This year it will be at Mountain Lakes State Park\, North Salem\, Westchester\, NY.  201 Hawley Rd.\, North Salem\, NY.  Spruce Lake Pavilion\, first left after park office. Cross bridge\, turn right. Only heavy rain will cancel or postpone the event. The Spruce Lake Pavilion is covered. We have a mushroom walk first\, our lunch around noon/12:30\, followed by a mushroom id session.\n \nWe ask that members bring a quantity of easily shareable food with serving spoon(s). We will provide plates\, plastic forks and knives\, cups\, and napkins. Please put down on a card what your dish is and the main ingredients especially if one is cooking with wild mushrooms as some people have sensitivities to some mushrooms. Also\, is it vegetarian or vegan?\n \nYou should probably bring some water and feel free to bring other beverages of your choice.\nThe event details are only viewable to active members who are logged into the website.
