DESCRIPTION:Join us for our online ID meeting on Monday\, August 28. Come share what you’ve found\, see what others have found or to ask more general questions about anything fungi-related.  \nI encourage you to use iNaturalist – it’s a great way to keep track of your finds\, and you will be able to participate in these two NYMS projects: \n\nFungi of New York City.\n\nFungi Beyond New York City.\nSlime Molds of New York City.\n\nIf you’re not using iNaturalist\, try to have images on your computer that you can share. \nEither way\, it’s important to document your finds with clear pictures\, showing details of cap\, underside and stem\, and to note the habitat. When possible\, make a spore print. \nAll members are welcome to join – especially new members! We will try to make it as easy as possible for everyone and are eager to assist\, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a pop-up walk in Cunningham Park\, Queens this Sunday!\n\nWe don’t have a scheduled walk programmed for Labor Day weekend so we’ll be checking in on what’s going on New York City parks. Cunningham Park has lots of ponds and downed wood so it should be a good walk for wood-decaying fungi.\n\nBut ponds also mean mosquitoes\, lots of them! We recommend bringing a full armory of bug repellents and protective clothing.\n\nIf you’ve never been on a mushroom walk with us before\, here is what to expect. We highly recommend using iNaturalist app to document the fungi you find.
