SUMMARY:An introduction to mycology with Paul Sadowski
DESCRIPTION:The mushroom world is waking up. After a long winter and a dry spring\, rains have and are likely to produce mushrooms for what has long been the mushroom hunting season for the NYMS: the months of summer and autumn. \nJoin Paul Sadowski for an introduction to the fungal kingdom. He’ll cover the basics of fungal biology\, anatomy\, habit\, and taxonomy. \nThe Zoom presentation will serve as a primer to a field trip as part of the Gary Lincoff Backyard Walk on July 2nd. \nYou will get the basics and follow-up for what we hope is (eternal) a fruitful season! \nPaul has been an active amateur mycologist for over thirty years. \nSince 2016 he has been an instructor in Mycology in the New York Botanical Garden Adult Education Program\, offering classes in mushroom identification. \nThis lecture was recorded and is viewable to active members who are logged in.
