SUMMARY:Come join us for an online ID meeting this Monday\, starring the Amanitas!
DESCRIPTION:Next Monday’s ID meeting will be happening online. \nSince there are fewer fungi to be found this time of year\, we’ll be diving deeper into families of fungi that a lot of people are interested in. This Monday the spotlight is on Amanitas\, hosted by me. \nAmanitas are some of the showiest – and deadliest – fungi  in the fungal kingdom\, and sorting them into sections if not species is definitely a worthwhile skill. Bring your most exciting or confounding Amanita observations and let’s learn about them together! We might well have time left over to look at other observations too. \nAs always\, we encourage you to use iNaturalist to share your observations – it’s a great way to keep track of your finds\, and you will be able to participate in these two NYMS projects: \n\nFungi of New York City\nFungi Beyond New York City\nSlime Molds of New York City\n\nIf you’re not using iNaturalist\, try to have images on your computer that you can share. \nEither way\, it’s important to document your finds with clear pictures\, showing as many details as possible. \nAll members are welcome to join – especially new members!
