SUMMARY:Joint NYMS/COMA Picnic.  Blue Mountain Reservation\, Peekskill\, NY - Saturday\, October 24th
DESCRIPTION:The New York Mycological Society along with COMA (Connecticut-Westchester Mycological Association) are having our annual joint potluck picnic. It will take place at Blue Mountain Reservation\, Peekskill\, New York on Saturday\, October 24th. \nPlease bring plenty of good food and drink (mushroom dishes appreciated\, of course) to share with everyone. After the picnic there will be a walk in an adjacent park.  \nBring paper bags for collecting specimens\, a hand lens\, a knife\, a tackle box (optional)\, water and a lunch. The club is fairly all-weather\, but if the forecast takes a particularly nasty turn\, we will cancel this walk or shift it to another day. Please monitor your email in case we do. \nWe highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS\, Android) to document the fungi you find. Find out how to use it here. \nIf you’ve never been on a mushroom walk with us before\, here is what to expect. \nTicks and mosquitos are common in this park so you should take precautions against them. \nThe event details are only viewable to active members who are logged into the website.
